IESBA Code of ethics for professional accountants

The International Ethical Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA), an independent standard-setting body of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), has issued proposed changes to the IFAC Code of ethics for professional accountants (the Code).

The exposure draft proposes changes to enhance the clarity of the Code. The proposed changes make clear the specific requirements that are contained in the Code and refine the application of the Code's conceptual framework. The exposure draft, dated July 2008, is available from the IFAC website.

Members may submit their comments on the proposed changes to CPA Australia via email professionalstandards@cpaaustralia.com.au by Friday, 3 October 2008.

For further information visit the IFAC website.
